The annual Easter tournament was held from 3 – 10 April 2023 at Albert Park, Suva. A total of 12 teams played in the cricket tournament which includes 11 teams from the Cricket Fiji affiliated Associations, with Suva and Lakeba having 2 teams each. The 12th team was a Cricket Fiji Development side which comprises of Under 19 players vying for a place for the national team to participate in the EAP U19 World Cup qualifier in Darwin, Australia in June.
The final saw Pool 1 opponents Suva Warriors and Ono-i-Lau batting out for the winner’s trophy. Suva Warriors having lost to Ono-i-Lau in the pool rounds sought to make amends in the final. The closely contested final saw Suva Warriors packed with national reps getting one back by beating Ono-i-Lau by 11 runs. Suva Warriors captain Makutu Tupou highlighted after the final that Ono-i-Lau will be the team to watch in next year’s tournament with most of their players playing in their domestic competition on the island.
The weeklong tournament also facilitated the Association Cup challenge on Tuesday 4 April between challenger Nadi and Cup holder Lakeba. Lakeba won by 2 wickets in what was a closely contested game.
