Cricket Fiji today launched its new website in order to reach out to our fans, players and
stakeholders in Fiji and around the world. Chairman of the Cricket Fiji Board, Mr. Meli
Saubulinayau in launching the website highlighted the historical aspect of the occasion and how
it ties up with the historical events in the month of May; with the celebration of the inaugural
Girmit Day and the reinstatement of the GCC and the Ratu Sukuna Day. The late statesman, Ratu
Sir Josefa Vanayaliyali Sukuna was also instrumental in the founding of the Fiji Cricket Association
in 1946 with Mr. Philip Snow.
This historic occasion also provided a unique opportunity to set the tune for future relations for
Cricket Fiji. Some members of the National U19 team preparing for the East Asia Pacific World
Cup qualifier in Darwin, Australia were also present and they were also encouraged that together
with the launching of the inaugural website; they are also the future of cricket in Fiji.
The website is a platform that Cricket Fiji will use to get our stories out to the region and around
the world. It will also allow us to keep in contact with our players, supporters and stakeholders.
