Cricket Fiji together with Suva Cricket Association in partnership with Sports World have kicked started their first ever T-40 Super Leage 2023 with eight participating teams. After the completion of the group stages, Police Cricket Club and CAF Warriors are the teams to beat after they topped their pool games, winning all of their pool games.
This competition has been an eye opener for many players as most of the current national rep’s have not played more than 20 overs cricket. This will be a stepping stone for more competition of such as the association seeks to develop the sport further.
This week is semi-final week as most of the teams have been flexing their muscle and getting used to 40 overs cricket. Police will meet Sarafui while CAF warriors will meet Army in the other semi-final for the cup. In the plate, Wardens will meet Nasaqalau and Suva Royals against BSP. Games for the cup semi-final will be played at Burkhurst Park while the plate semi-final will be played at the Suva Grammer School grounds.
