HIGH PERFORMANCE PROGRAM FOR SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

Cricket Fiji will be holding a “High Performance Program” for secondary school students from the 4th to the 8th of September. This program has come about from the successful completion of the boys and girls Under 19 competitions. It has been seen that the skills and talent displayed by the young players during the 2023 secondary schools tournament is somewhat “RAW”, and needs guidance and mentoring programs, so that it can be up tuned to the level that is needed.

Our national Under 19 Men’s team competed at the East Asia Pacific World Cup Qualification in Darwin earlier this year and their results have sent shockwaves through out the region after being placed first in the Pacific region and third overall in the Tournament just behind New Zealand and Japan. The High Performance Program intends to prepare our elite players for such tournaments, and this will be the stepping stone for our young cricketers who want to take their game to the next level. This in turn will be the ground work for our Under 19 Womens team for their qualification tournament next year.

The program will be held in Albert Park from 8.30am, and a list of players that have been identified by Cricket Fiji to undergo this program, however will not limit ourselves to the lists, as we will welcome any other student who may be interested in taking up the sport to the next level.

For any clarification and queries please contact the High Performance Manager on 2798148.
