The final round of the round-robin format for the Suva Women’s T20 competition concluded today at Suva’s Albert Park. This round is crucial in deciding the teams that will progress to the finals scheduled for the first week of January 2024.

In a nail-biting encounter, Nausori Majidez triumphed over Northland Blaze by 3 wickets while the clash between Black Ducks and Veiyasana Stars saw Black Ducks emerging victorious also by 3 wickets. Additionally, Sarafui secured a win against Ono-i-Lau Sixers.

As we move into the final showdown, Sarafui Sinas will face off against Nausori Majidez, setting the stage for an exciting match. Sarafui Sinas, the only unbeaten team in the competition is the frontrunner for the coveted main trophy. On the other hand, Nausori Majidez will make their inaugural appearance in the final and will enter the match as underdogs after having already been defeated by Sarafui Sinas earlier in the competition. Sarafui Sinas was the runner-up to Moce last year and will aim to go a step further this time around.

The third-place playoff will be a replay of today’s game between Black Ducks and Veiyasana Stars.

The final will be played at Albert Park on Saturday 6 January 2024. Notably, this competition serves as a vital component in the preparation for our national women’s team for the Pacific Cup in New Zealand from 15 to 22 January 2024. The competition, hosted by New Zealand Cricket will include Fiji, Cook Islands, New Zealand Maori, Papua New Guinea, Samoa and Vanuatu.
