Cricket Fiji will co-host the inaugural Pacific Island Cricket Challenge 2023 (PICC23) with the Australian Defence Force Cricket (ADF Cricket) in March 2023. Originally conceived by ADF Cricket, the development of the Pacific Island Cricket Challenge 2023 (PICC23) concept occurred in collaboration with the International Cricket Council East Asia Pacific (ICC EAP), Cricket Australia and Cricket Fiji. The PICC23 vision is ‘Pacific CommUNITY through Cricket’ and seeks to reinforce the benefits of cricket as a community sport in the South West Pacific. The tournament will play T20 international matches with both men and women’s teams playing side by side at the Albert Park, Suva. The 5 teams invited for the tournament are Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Vanuatu and a combined ANZAC Barbarians team comprising of the Australian and New Zealand Defence Forces. Only games between the national Men’s and Women’s teams will be classified as T20i’s.

A PICC23 Skills Development Program (SDP) will be held from 5-9 March 2023 and will be immediately followed by parallel men’s and women’s PICC23 T20 tournaments played from 10-18 March 2023.

Preparation for the inaugural PICC23 is progressing well.
